Organisation

The international BEST organisation

BEST, Board of European Students of Technology is a constantly growing international non-profit organisation in Europe, consisting of 86 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 30 countries. The aim of the organisation is to develop the future generation of engineers.

Since 1989 BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and educational symposia.

BEST Budapest

LBG Budapest was established at the Budapest University of Technology in 1989, as one of the founding members of the international organization. Due to the constant growth of our local group, nowadays our courses and engineering competitions are organized by about 25 active volunteer members, with aid from our Alumni. Our members receive basic training and knowledge transfers after they join the organization. Later, when they start working on projects in teams, we provide them with adequate, advanced-level training sessions.

In 1992 LBG Budapest organised the first job fair at the Budapest University of Technology together with IAESTE. In 2007 the Engineering Competition organised by BEST Budapest was the first of its kind in Hungary.
